About SGB

It’s no secret that to get the best results out of any project, the design process must be a smooth and enjoyable one. That is why we at Studio SGB work very closely with our clients to understand how they would like to work and ensure that we deliver what they are after in the most personal, approachable and efficient way possible.

Our clients' individual style, personality and practical needs are very important to us and so we find it works best to provide a flexible service in three parts for them to choose from:

1. Full Interior Design Service
2. Decoration Consultation
3. Paint Consultation

We have a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for interiors and so we are able to guide creatively to achieve the look that clients are after.

We achieve our timeless and layered design schemes with the use of our fabric and wallpaper library; our varied range of paints and finishes and our extensive contact list of talented cabinet makers, upholsterers and curtain makers, art and antique dealers.

We are also extremely fortunate to have our own Hugh St Clair and Ottoboni in-house fabrics.

About Sophie

Sophie has had a love of colour, interiors and textiles since childhood, growing up alongside her mother’s interior design business near the Silk Mills in Sudbury, Suffolk. She strives to design homes that reflect the personality and practical needs of her clients, and to inspire them, whilst staying true to the spirit of the building and setting.

After studying at Wimbledon College of Arts and London College of Fashion she went on to co-found Paint & Paper Library with David Oliver in 1996.

Nina Campbell, Neisha Crosland and Allegra Hicks all had paint or wallpaper collections under license and distributed by Paint & Paper Library. Working with such talented and varied designers as these had a great influence on Sophie and she feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from them. Paint & Paper Library was recently sold to Little Greene, but the relationship continues with Paint Library London, Elystan Street on Chelsea Green which is the London showroom for the brand.

In 2008 Sophie founded Sophie Grattan Bellew Interiors and has never looked back.  She and her team have gone from strength to strength taking on projects all around the UK but predominantly in East Anglia and London.
